Colmar
Colmar
Colmar - Alsatian gem
picturesque – romantic
Colmar is a small Alsatian town in northeast France near the German border. The jewel of the city is the old town with its cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses.
The Renaissance and the Middle Ages shaped the ancient and romantic cityscape.
The focal point is the Place de la Cathédral with the Martinsmünster, which was built in the 13th century.
Colmar is located on the Alsatian Wine Route. This is especially famous for the Gewürztraminer and Riesling grape varieties.
During the Advent season, the Christmas market is of course also worth a visit. With its many different kind of lights and colors, it offers an impressive pre-Christmas spectacle.
